Cost Audit Report

Business Rules

As per requirements of the Companies (Cost Accounting Record) Rules, 2011, Cost Accounting Principles & Standards as well as other relevant notifications/circulars, etc, few costing disclosures are to be mandatorily “tagged” with appropriate taxonomy element. A list of such mandatory “tagging” is provided in the Business Rule that is associated with the taxonomy. Business Rules indicates the disclosures that are to be mandatorily reported for preparation of a Valid XBRL instance document.
However, it is to be noted that Business Rules are the minimum set of rules which are required to be reported by a company in its XBRL instance document. The complete information required to be filed with the Central Government should be captured in the XBRL instance documents for submission with MCA. It is to be noted that even if any element is optional or exempted in the business rules, but the same is available in the approved Cost Audit and Compliance Report of a company, then the same should be reported in the XBRL instance document.
